Based on the North Yorkshire coast, Rachel Welford works to commission creating bespoke architectural glass artwork, including window, door and wall panels, screens and installations for any architectural application. Rachel also produces artwork in glass and paper based media following her own independent creative ideas making artworks for gallery, domestic interior or exterior environments.

Inspired by light, reflection and translucency Rachel works with flat glass, manipulating layered surfaces to create artworks with complex spatial relationships. Sandblasting, screen-printing, silvering, water-jet cutting and fusing are her main techniques. Recent commissions include 12 windows for St Peter’s Church Chapterhouse, Sunderland; external wall panels and balustrade on Bridlington’s South Promenade; artworks within City of York Council offices.
